| I imagine my soul to be like a cathedral. It's rather plain, gray stone all around. There are some pretty but simple stain-glassed windows high in the wall and the ceiling goes so high I can't see the top. There are no chairs, just a stone floor. No one else is there but me. Sometimes I kneel and pray. Sometimes I sing hymns, my voice echoing off of the stone. Sometimes I just sit on the floor and ignore the cross that hangs in the front of the sanctuary. And sometimes I even dirty the clean stone with mud and grime. But then when I'm ashamed and finally look up to the cross, a giant wave flows through the sanctuary and washes all of the dirt away. It's clean again. | | |
| So after quite a long break, I'm back. Back at school too. I'm interested in seeing how this year will go, with everything. I'm going to be really busy, as will many of my friends. Will that mean we won't hang out much anymore? I'm going to try to be involved in some different ministries. How will that work? And most important of all, what will God teach me this year? I hope a lot, but I know that I have to be receptive too. So far I've done a great job of being distracted by all the businessI r around me. Let it not remain so. Anyway, we'll see. | | |
| One of my professors (I had her for Composition Theory and Advanced English Grammar last sememster) recently came out with a book called Starting From Scratch. It's a memoir using food! I just finished reading it the other day, and I really like it. She has had a very interesting life, living in Germany, Hong Kong, and China. She also loves cooking. She seemlessly weaves her personal story in with her discussion food and how it shows us who we really are. She also has recipes at the end of every chapter. It really makes me wish I had a decent kitchen, cooking supplies, and money so I could try some of her recipes. They sound amazing. Anyway, if you have time and like food I would definitely recommend it.

| We were trying to decide what to do on Friday night, and we decided to make a music video. It was eleven fifteen (forty-five minutes before open dorm ends), so we did one practice, and two filmings. This is the result. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YDPl-R9jOQ | | |
| Last night and today have been glorious! Last night it started pouring in huge sheets of water, complete with a blowing rain. My friend Cortney and I went for a run/skip/hop in the rain, complete with a puddle fight. It was quite nice, except for then I had to sit in wet clothes for almost two hours before I could take a shower. Today, it's been off and on rain with a cold breeze--quite invigorating. The air smells very clean and beautiful. | | |
